How can I celebrate my Graduate?
It’s about that time of year when we start thinking about what we will do for our graduates. Whether your child is graduating from kindergarten, high school, college, or anything in between, these milestones should be celebrated. I have a high school senior who will be graduating soon and heading off to college, and I am thinking about how I can honor her and all her accomplishments. If you are wondering about the same thing for your Graduate, keep reading for some ideas.
A cap and gown portrait session
Have you ever thought about a session for your child in their cap and gown? What do you think about on the day of graduation? It’s a time to celebrate. It’s very emotional, and your child will be thinking a
bout the friends they will be moving on from in the excitement of parties to come. It’s not the best time to get amazing photos of your student in their cap and gown. Think about setting up a portrait session specifically for these images before graduation will allow your student to be more relaxed. And this way, you’ll be sure to get those heart smile moments and document this wonderful time in your child’s life.
Announcement cards or invitations
You’ve already had senior photos taken. Why not use this to make some announcement cards or graduation invitations. It is another opportunity to celebrate your Graduate. You can announce where they’re going off to college if that’s what they’re doing. Maybe list some key accomplishments and spread the word that they are moving to the next chapter of their life.
A school years keepsake album
A keepsake album, this is something I’ve been thinking about giving my daughter as she moves on to college. I want to give her the confidence to follow her dreams, the comfort of knowing she has a family behind her, and the joy of her memories. Through the last 18 years of her life, I have documented many moments that will remind her of who she is and where she dares to go. A keepsake album of your child’s 13 years of education, complete with their graduation photo, is a little piece of history and home they can take and will cherish for many years to come.
A family portrait session or session with their best friends
It is a time when your family is changing. Capture your child and family at this moment before things are going to change. Also, capturing them with their friends and documenting who they are now will help your child reminisce about their favorite memories with their friends as they move on to make new ones.
As seasons of life change, be sure to capture and celebrate these moments. I would love to capture your family in any life season if you would like to have your changing family moments formally documented.
