Why am I a Photographer?
What makes me different?
The ocean has always spoken to me—its waves, like stories, ebb and flow, each carrying history, emotion, and transformation. My photography is the same. It’s not just about taking pictures; it’s about preserving the fleeting moments that become the heart of our stories—whether it’s a senior on the verge of their next chapter, a family embracing the now, or an entrepreneur stepping into their power.
I don’t remember exactly when I first picked up a camera, but I do remember the first photo that truly mattered. It was at my First Communion party. I had been taking pictures throughout the day, but one stands out in my memory—a photo of my grandpa walking up the front walkway of my house. I didn’t know then that it would be the last photo ever taken of him before he passed away. That image is imprinted in my mind, and it shaped the way I see photography—not just as an art form but as a way to hold on to the people and moments we can never get back.
Throughout my life, I remember flipping through photo albums, holding onto memories of family, friends, and all the things that mattered most. But as time passed, I found fewer photos of my parents and me together. The last one was from my high school graduation. My father has since passed, and I deeply regret not having more images to hold onto—a tangible reminder of our bond, our laughter, our love. That feeling—the longing for moments we can never relive—is what fuels my passion.
This is why I do what I do.
I want the parents who are always behind the camera to step in front of it—to exist in their family’s story. I want today’s children to grow up with portraits that remind them of their childhood, their roots, and their legacy. Like the ocean shaping the shoreline, moments shape who we are, and my purpose is to capture them in a way that feels timeless, soulful, and deeply personal.
