We need to include Mom in portraits.

The Vanishing Mom Syndrome

When looking back at family pictures, the mom is usually absent, especially if that family doesn't have professional portraits taken regularly.  Children love their mothers and want to look at images of their moms. Seeing mom fills them with joy and love.  Without pictures, a child can not visually share their childhood memories of their mom with their children.  Grandma doesn't exist as a younger mother. And because grandma was behind the camera most of her adult life as a mother, she doesn't want to be in photographs now.    Moms visually disappear.  We need to change that.

I love photographing Moms.

It is a shame that most moms feel self-conscious and want only their children in portraits.  Moms cuddling and kissing on their little ones are the most precious images to look back on for both mom and child. I love capturing that look in a mother's eye when she snuggles on her little one. I also love seeing the joy of the child looking up at mom.  That child sees mom as a superhero.  And moms are superheroes; wouldn't you agree?

All Moms are beautiful and deserve to see themselves as their children do.

Moms are the best at making excuses for staying behind the camera.  I'm not at my ideal weight; my hair is a mess or needs to be colored; I have no makeup on; I don't have anything to wear; and on and on. And Moms, these excuses are why you have a professional photographer take your portraits.  It is our job to get you to relax and help you look great.  That is our superpower.  This way, you can enjoy the session with your kids and not worry about a thing. The truth is moms need to be photographed with their kids because these are images their children will look upon in the future and remember that Mom was there with them.

Moms, stop making excuses and get in front of the camera!

If you would like a family portrait session with mom, let's talk. We can curate the perfect session for your family. I would love to work with you ato create stunning artwork commemorating mom for your home and family.
